HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Hattiesburg Cycles is hosting a motorcycle benefit ride Saturday in honor of slain police officers Benjamin Deen and Liqouri Tate.
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. at Hattiesburg Cycles, and the ride starts at 10 a.m.
"We're really excited about this, we had a customer come in and said that he felt like he was led to put a ride together and he didn't know how to do it. So, you know we'll be glad to help you out with that," said William Moore, General Manager of Hattiesburg Cycles. "I think this area is a little different that a lot of other areas in the country. I think that we are really blessed to live here, we've got a great community and the motorcyclist love our law enforcement officers. And of course, there's an awful lot of law enforcement officers that ride motorcycles. We're going to be tickled to see all of those guys here tomorrow."
The event costs $20 per bike, and $5 per passenger. Proceeds from the 70 mile ride go to the officer's families.
