HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - A group of Pine Belt children learned life saving information today at the Oseola McCarty Youth Development Center.
Firefighters simulated a house fire to teach the children about fire safety. The center's director says it's important for children
to learn this information at a young age.
"They need to know first hand what to do, because when you have that hands on training, it sticks with them," said Janet Baldwin, Oseola McCarty Youth Development Center Director.
The fire prevention trailer belongs to the Forrest County volunteer fire departments and has been loaned out to cities and other counties in the area.
