WAYNE COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - The Wayne County Courthouse was evacuated around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday following a bomb threat.
Initially, authorities were not sure if the threat was specifically meant for the Wayne County Courthouse in Mississippi.
Authorities said the secret service notified the Wayne County Sheriff's Department that an Arkansas man planned to strap a bomb to himself and walk inside of the courthouse.
The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation sent in a bomb-smelling dog and nothing was found.
Don Hopkins with the Waynesboro Police Department said the courthouse is now cleared, and the incident is closed.
