HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - A bi-partisan study group for the Secretary of State's Office is continuing its work to reform election law in Mississippi.
It's looking at early voting, online registration and other issues.
They've met once and will do so three more times this year, before presenting their proposals to the Legislature.
"Those things produce a really good product to take to the Legislature," said Delbert Hosemann, secretary of state. "And every time we do one of these, by the time we get it to the Legislature, they make their good work, but it's usually not much when they go to pass this and I think we'll bring something that will be bi-partisan that everyone will be able to support," he said.
Hosemann was campaigning at the Blueberry Jubilee in Poplarville and the annual Craft Beer Festival Hattiesburg Saturday.
