Hattiesburg Salvation Army administrator retiring after generation of service

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - An administrator at the Hattiesburg Salvation Army is retiring after more than a generation of service to disaster victims, senior citizens and the less fortunate in the Hub City area.

Danny Dickinson, the director of human resources, spent his last day at work Friday getting hugs from co-workers and friends, and receiving certificates and other honors from fellow administrators.

Dickinson has been with the Salvation Army for 35 years and during that time, has worked in disaster, social and senior citizen services.

He says he'll spend his retirement doing volunteer work for several organizations, including the Salvation Army.
