The Laurel-Jones County Library was packed with children and filled with animals Tuesday afternoon.“Animal Avengers” was hosted by the library as part of the summer reading program.

To continue the theme “Every Hero Has a Story," Animal Tales from Florida stopped by and presented 'Heroes from the Wild.' Naturalist John Ham showed several exotic wildlife animals from all over the world which included a yellow-footed tortoise, a Brazilian Salmon Pink Bird-Eating Tarantula, a Boa Constrictor, a Paraguayan Screaming Hairy Armadillo, a Argentine Black and White Tegu and a Collared Aracari.

“We talk about the animals and how their hero-like abilities are in the wild and also how they kind of help out and they are heroes of the wild,” Ham said.

During the event, some children were also able to interact with the animals through hands-on volunteering.
