LAMAR COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - A high-risk search warrant in Lamar County landed two people behind bars Friday morning.
Members of the Lamar County Sheriff's Department executed the warrant at 57 Lymon Road, just off Highway 13 in Southwest Lamar County.
Lamar County residents, Bonnie Zehnetner, 33, and Audie Rushing, 45, were taken into custody by deputies around 8:30 a.m. and officers began their search.
Officers recovered bottles of multiple prescription pills, methamphetamine, and multiple weapons during the search of the residence.
Zehnetner was charged with possession of a controlled substance while in possession of a firearm and Rushing is charged with two counts of possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, possession of a controlled substance while in possession of a weapon, sale of controlled substance, and sale of a controlled substance while in possession of a weapon.
There was a 1-year-old in their custody as well when officers executed the search warrant, and the child was turned over to other family members.
"These two arrests tied up a few sale cases that our narcotics guys have been working on for a little while," said Lamar County Sheriff's Department Maj. Brad Weathers.
"Being able to put a case together, and take folks like this off the streets, even if it's one or two at a time makes a difference and that is what we are here to do," said Weathers.
The two were booked in to the Lamar County Jail where they are awaiting their initial appearance.
