Lamar County auto burglary suspect jailed again

LAMAR COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

A Lamar County man previously convicted of multiple auto burglaries is behind bars once again.

Tanner McCardle, 23, was arrested Tuesday on an arrest warrant out of Lamar County for failing to appear in court.

McCardle was indicted in January 2014 in connection to a 21 count indictment for commercial burglary, attempted commercial burglary and habitual. His bond was set at $100,000.

McCardle previously pled guilty to three auto burglary cases in July 2010, and was sentenced to 7 years in the custody of Mississippi Department of Corrections, with 3 years to be served at the MDOC and 4 years to be served with post-release supervision, all to run concurrent.

He is currently being housed at the Lamar County Jail.

    Sports betting will be legal in casinos across Mississippi in 30 days. That's according to the state Gaming Commission, who voted Thursday morning to approve the change.
