Laurel man charged for stabbing another man

Kenneth Dean, 25, Kenneth Dean, 25,
LAUREL, MS (WDAM) - A Laurel man is behind bars for allegedly stabbing another man.

On Monday night the Laurel Police Department received a call from South Central Regional Medical Center in reference
to an emergency room patient.
According to police, the 19-year-old patient said Kenneth Dean, 25, had stabbed him multiple times.

"It appears that there was an altercation in Al's Quick Stop," said Sgt. Michael Reaves. "There was some type of verbal exchange and possibly a physical exchange inside the convenience store which then spilled over to the parking lot. There was a physical confrontation and the victim was stabbed."
Sgt. Reaves said the victim was then taken to the hospital.

"There was a bystander who witnessed the incident and loaded him into a vehicle and was able to get him to the hospital rather quickly," said Sgt. Reaves.

According to police, the victim is in stable condition.

Sgt. Reaves said Dean turned himself in Tuesday morning. He is being charged with aggravated assault and will go before Laurel Municipal Court for his bond hearing Wednesday.
