HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - This is a news release from the Hattiesburg Zoo

The Hattiesburg Zoo will host its annual summer camp program for kids ages 5-12 this summer at the Zoo. Summer Camps at the Hattiesburg Zoo offer unique learning experiences for children through hands-on activities and enrichment projects. Summer camp will kick off on June 8th-12th with the first themed camp, Animal Classifications.

Children will learn about a variety of different topics through discovery and interactive activities including fun crafts, classes, animal encounters, behind the scenes tours and some summer fun on the splash pad.

"Zoo Camps are a great way for kids to experience the Hattiesburg Zoo in a new way," said Kelly Ellis, General Manager at the Hattiesburg Zoo. "When children participate in summer camps at the Zoo they have the unique opportunity to become more appreciative of exotic animals, all while having a great time. Each camp will incorporate interactive activities and behind the scenes tours, providing an unforgettable summer experience for local children."
