HPD enforcing city curfew

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - School is out and kids are more eager to roam around, but the Hattiesburg Police Department wants to remind citizens, there is a city curfew for kids under eighteen.

Every year the department receives calls about under age kids who are up to no good, so in an effort to avoid that kids who are out after 11-pm--Sunday thru Thursday--must have an adult present.

As far as weekends, the city curfew is extended until midnight.

Hattiesburg Police are cracking down on enforcing the law, and parents could be facing up to a $500 fine if their child is convicted in breaking the curfew.
