HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - A website has ranked the best states for women based off of seven categories.
According to the data, a set of reports from 2004 represent how women fare in employment and earnings, poverty and opportunity, work and family, violence and safety, reproductive rights, health and well being, and political participation.
States that consecutively ranked well in the study included New Hampshire, New York,Oregon, and Maryland.
States that ranked poorly included the southern states of Mississippi, Louisiana, and Alabama.
