HATTIESBURG, MS - This is a press release from AAA Ambulance
This year marks the 50- year anniversary of AAA Ambulance Service (AAA), a public not for profit emergency medical care provider founded in 1965 and based in Hattiesburg, MS. Now serving nine counties and over 300,000 people, the company nicknamed "Triple A" began serving Mississippi nearly ten years before the State Department of Health was authorized to recognize ambulance service as a distinct medical profession. The first ambulance service to receive a license from that agency, AAA has served Mississippi without interruption since that time. No other ambulance service comes close to that honor in this state.
In addition to first licensed, AAA has documented its leadership in Mississippi's emergency medical services system by being first to train and test paramedics; first in satellite telemetry; first to provide helicopter response; first to lead in trauma system care; and first to provide SMART 911.
In concert with National EMS Week (May 17-23), AAA salutes the many men and women who have staffed the emergency vehicles of AAA and of the thousands of providers nationwide. Their choice to serve their fellow man, often in the worst of times, is admirable. All too often, their profession goes unnoticed and unappreciated. AAA staff pledge that they will continue their dedication and commitment to be the best and to carry on the AAA tradition of being "Here for you since 1965."
