HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Two Southern Miss football players are behind bars in connection to an early morning armed robbery in Hattiesburg.

James Cox and Kyle Foster were arrested Wednesday afternoon in connection to an armed robbery that occurred at 900 Beverly Hills Drive at The Cottages.

Cox is listed on the Southern Miss football roster as a junior wide receiver from Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Foster is listed as a senior red-shirt wide receiver from Ann Arbor, Michigan.

According to Hattiesburg Police Lt. Jon Traxler, the pair is charged with armed robbery, burglary of an occupied dwelling and kidnapping.

“We have been made aware of this situation and we are continuing to gather information at this time,” said Jack Duggan, Southern Miss Assistant Athletic Director.
