HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - The City of Hattiesburg is showing its support for efforts to curb drug and alcohol abuse among young people.
Wednesday, mayor Johnny Dupree issued a proclamation observing National Prevention Week in the Hub City.
That's a nationwide effort to focus attention on the prevention and reduction of the use of alcohol, drugs and tobacco.
Administrators and staff with DREAM (Drug-Free Resources for Education and Alternatives in Mississippi) joined the mayor as he issued the proclamation.
National Prevention Week is May 17-23.
