HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Oak Grove football coach Neville Barr announced his retirement Tuesday afternoon.
Barr's retirement will be effective at the end of the school year.
"He's an all around great guy, and a positive influence for all the boys at Oak Grove High school," said Lamar County Superintendent Tess Smith.
Barr was a part-time employee, but the county plans to post a full-time position to ensure the most qualified candidate.
Barr has been the head football coach since 2001, and led the team to a 2013 championship win.
We will have more on this developing story as details become available.
