WCU and the Area Development Partnership host Small Business Leadership Award Luncheon

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - William Carey University and the Area Development Partnership hosted the annual Small Business Leadership Award Luncheon to recognize the important contributions of small businesses to the growing Pinebelt area.

"We're excited today to recognize a small business leader in our community that has demonstrated community service and leadership among their peers," said Dr. Cheryl Dale, Dean for WCU School of Business. "William Carey University is a great supporter of small businesses in our area. This is one way of recognizing the importance of those businesses to our community."

Phillip Gunn, speaker of the Mississippi House of Representatives, was the keynote guest speaker.

The 2015 Small Business Leadership Award was given to Kyle Wallace, Vice President and Managing Partner with Shows, Dearman, and Waits, Inc. Wallace was selected Mississippi "Engineer of the Year" in 2008 with the Mississippi Engineering Society for the state of Mississippi. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the ADP and is a member of the American Council of Engineering Companies.
