Officials find cocaine during routine traffic stop

LAUREL, MS (WDAM) - Two suspects are behind bars after officials with the Laurel Narcotics Division found drugs Wednesday.

Anthony Jones Jr., 27, and Glenn Carpenter, 34, were arrested during a routine traffic stop on Maple Street in Laurel.

According to Jones County Sheriff's Department officials, both men were charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute. Jones was found with 11.8 grams of cocaine in his possession, and Capenter had 4.2 grams of cocaine in his possession.

They will have their initial bond hearing on Friday. Both men remain housed in the Jones County Jail.
