Bond set for Laurel man charged with sexual battery, molestation

JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - The man accused of molesting and committing sexual battery against three juvenile family members made his initial appearance in Justice Court on Tuesday.

Billy Ralph Prince, 68, went before Justice Court Judge Howell Beech to hear those charges against him.

Prince was charged with two counts of sexual battery and one count of molestation. Beech set bond for Prince at $50,000 for each charge for a total of $150,000.

A family member of Prince, a juvenile, brought the incident to the attention of a school counselor. The counselor then contacted the parents who immediately brought it to the attention of the Jones County Sheriff's Department.

During the investigation by JCSD investigators, it was discovered that two other juvenile members had also been inappropriately touched.

Prince is being held in the Jones County Jail and the case is still under investigation.
