LAUREL, MS (WDAM) - A Laurel business raised hundreds of dollars for the family of a teenage boy who was involved in a fatal accident April 11.
The Dairy Queen on Flynt Road donated 15 percent of sales to Isaac Holloway's family on Thursday.
DQ Manager Kasey Maxcey said the restaurant had a busy day that day. She said she hasn't seen profits skyrocket like that in a while. Maxcey said they even had several students from North East Jones High School stop by to help with the sales.
Thanks to everyone's help, Laurel's DQ will give $892 to Holloway's family, who says they will use the money to buy Isaac a headstone.
DQ said they are glad to be able to help the family of one of their former employee's. Employee's there said they considered Holloway like family.
