HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

All lanes of U.S. Hwy 49 have been reopened after a multiple vehicle accident by Ropers in Hattiesburg caused traffic delays Thursday morning.

According to the Mississippi Department of Transportation, the traffic flow is returning to normal, but drivers are asked to use caution when traveling through the area while officials finish clearing debris.

Several drivers have been taken to local hospitals, but their conditions are unknown at this time.

This accident is still under investigation.
