Arrest made in Columbia shooting case

COLUMBIA, MS (WDAM) - An arrest has been made after a shooting occurred Thursday in Columbia.

A home on Walker Street was riddled with bullets Thursday afternoon. No injuries from the shooting were reported.

Friday, Columbia Police arrested Joshodrick Rawls, 27, in connection with the shooting.

"We're still investigating, there are other arrests pending, and he's going to be processed and transferred to the Marion county facility," said Captain Denise Allen. "Based on our investigation, because there are other people involved, and because of the circumstances, on their behalf based on the investigation, we're perusing the charges."

Rawls was charged with shooting into an occupied dwelling. He will be moved to the Marion County facility.

The investigation is ongoing.
