HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Although rain is in the forecast, The 17th Annual Downtown Crawfish Jam, will still go on. Previously, the Hattiesburg Historic Neighborhood Association, asked that tents not be brought, but to ensure that the family friendly event is still going to be a good time, participants will be allowed to bring their tents this year to stay dry.

"We've got lots more tents coming; we'll have our usual tents also," said Andrea Saffle of the Hattiesburg Downtown Association. "I do recommend you wear your flip-flops or your mud boots. It is a great value and you're getting 5 great bands. Whether you drink beer, whether you eat crawfish, we've got hotdogs, we've got cokes, we've got something for everybody, we've got a kids zone. Everybody come on out, it's going to be a great day."

This annual event takes place on April 18, 2015 in the Hattiesburg Historic Neighborhood in Downtown Hattiesburg. The event features live musical performances by local and regional bands, as well as all-you-can-eat crawfish, beer and sodas.

The event will kick off this year at 8 a.m. with the CPSG's 3rd Annual VooDoo 5K Run ending at Walthall Park. Music is set to start at 10 a.m. and run until 7:30 p.m. at Walthall Park (located at 600 Walnut Street at the intersection with Rebecca Avenue).
