Soso woman charged with embezzlement of a Laurel business

Officers of the Laurel Police Department received an embezzlement complaint from a local business. 

Through investigation it was alleged that a former employee had embezzled in excess of $24,000 from the business. 

On Tuesday, the suspect was identified as Valerie Y. Henderson of Soso, who was arrested and charged with one count of embezzlement. 

Laurel Municipal Court Judge Kyle Robertson set Henderson's bond at $15,000. Sergeant Michael Reaves is the lead investigator in the case.
