FORREST COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - A pair of Pine Belt residents are behind bars and arrest warrants have been issued for three others in connection with a Monday burglary in Forrest County.
Megan Ray, 31, and Karanja Cobbert, 43, were charged with receiving stolen property in connection to a burglary that occurred in the 800 block of Highway 13 in Forrest County.
Arrest warrants have been issued by the Forrest County Sheriff's Department for Vicki Green, Singleton "Bilbo" Fairley and Jason McPhail.
According to Forrest County Sheriff's Department Investigator Nick Calico, deputies took a report that Monday morning, and later that day, received another call around 5:30 p.m. that day that a tractor and other items had been stolen from a residence.
Deputies met with the victims and got a description of the items and tractor.
Calico added that help from the public led them to the recovery of the tractor.
"We recovered the tractor on Ray Road, and once deputies got on scene, two suspects were taken into custody, and three suspects ran into the woods," said Calico.
Ray was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property and her bond was set at $7,500.
Cobbert was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property and his bond was set at $15,000.
