HATTIESBURG, MS -

Tig Notaro is returning to her home roots to perform in Mississippi for the first time. Notaro is a popular comedian who will be performing at Brewsky's in Hattiesburg at 8:00p.m.

“Tomorrow night we have one of the biggest shows in the history of standup comedy in the state of Mississippi,” Jamie Arrington, founder of Hub City Comedy said. “We have a Mississippi native, Tig Notaro, who has never been booked here and this is her first booked show in the state of Mississippi.”

Notaro was born in Jackson and raised in Pass Christian. After living in Texas, she dropped out of high school, briefly worked in the music industry and eventually found her home with comedy.

“Tig is an observational comic; she speaks a lot about her life experiences and kind of finds the humor in the things that have happened to her,” said Arrington. “Her album “Live” was about a 4 month period of time when she lost her mother, and [Notaro] was diagnosed with Breast Cancer; all in a brief period of time.”

Notaro has guest stared on several notable shows including, The Office, Community, and Bob's Burgers. She has also worked alongside Zach Galifianakis, and made appearances on Conan, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, and Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Her movie, “Knock-Knock, its Tig Notaro” premieres April 17th on Showtime. Next month, she will be recording an HBO special and her second album, “Live” was nominated for a Grammy.

Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 day of show. For ticket information, click here.
