Jones offers intercession courses in May

ELLISVILLE, MS (WDAM) -

This is a news release from Jones County Jr. College

Jones County Junior College is offering five intercession courses beginning May 18, through May 29, 2015. These “face-to-face” classes are for students who are serious about working to complete a course during the holidays. The same assignments for the regular semester courses will be completed during this time frame. Cost for taking a course will be $60 per semester hour plus the cost of books and regular fees. The last day to register is May 15, in the Student Success Center.

The classes will meet from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. daily except for the last day, which will meet for a two-hour final exam. Meeting Dates are: May 18, through May 22, and May 25, through May 29. The classes will be counted as part of the total hours for the 2015 summer semester. If a student has financial aid available for the summer semester, payment can be applied for the summer semester for eligible students.

    The Carterville Baptist Church delayed their mission trip to Nicaragua after receiving an urgent phone call that the destination was no longer safe due to an unrest in the country. Pastor of Carterville Baptist Church and mission team lead Ben Skipper says the call came while members were waiting in line at the airport to receive their plane tickets.

According the authorities, the shooting happened around 8 o'clock at an apartment complex.  Detectives tell us the incident involved a man and three brothers.
