The Gulf Coast Library at The University of Southern Mississippi Gulf Park campus in Long Beach is hosting various events throughout the week of April 12 in honor of National Library Week.
On Tuesday, April 14, at 2 p.m., the Think Center will present the workshop, "The 10 Most Effective Learning Strategies and How to Use Them," by Dr. Michele Williams, instructional services specialist at the Think Center. On Wednesday, April 15, from 12:15 until 1 p.m., the Gulf Coast Learning Commons will host the workshop, "Problem Solving 101," by Marlene Naquin, mathematics instructor.
In addition to the free workshops offered, the library will also host Fine Amnesty Day on April 14 where overdue books may be returned and the borrower incurs no fine. On Monday, Thursday and Friday, the library will offer free lemonade and popcorn. Participants may also register for a free library survival kit. One kit will be drawn each day on Thursday and Friday.
