PRCC bands to present concert

POPLARVILLE, MS (WDAM) -
This is a news release from PRCC

Three instrumental groups at Pearl River Community College will be presented in concert at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 16, in Smith Auditorium of the Brownstone Center for the Arts.

The PRCC Concert Band, PRCC Wind Ensemble and PRCC Percussion Ensemble will perform.

The concert will feature standard band literature as well as contemporary music for bands. Selections will include “Prelude, Siciliano, and Rondo” by Malcom Arnold and “Godzilla Eats Las Vegas” by Eric Whitacre as well as many other selections.

The bands are conducted by Dr. Kyle Hill, and Mr. Michael Bass.

Admission is free.

    The Lumberton Board of Aldermen voted to end the suspension of the police chief and fire the city clerk during a special-called meeting Thursday night.  On Monday, WDAM reported that the Lumberton Police Department said Chief Shane Flynt had submitted his resignation and that Phillip Ducksworth was serving as the interim police chief.
