JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - Jones County is getting trashy, but not for the reason you may think. Officials are hosting a Hazardous Waste Collection Day on Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.
The Jones County Sheriff's Department is joining forces with several sponsors from Jones County to provide residents with a safe place to dispose of hazardous household waste.
According to officials, no commercial waste, explosives, radioactive materials, PCB's, medical waste, syringes and laboratory chemicals will be accepted.
Officials ask residents to bring paint, batteries, herbicides, electronic waste, prescriptions and ammunition to the event for proper disposal.
The event will be held at the South Mississippi Fairgrounds main parking lot entrance off of Don Curt Blvd.
