This is a news release from Jones County Junior College.

Jones County Junior College is offering a “hot” deal for those interested in going to summer school to get ahead. The normal summer tuition rate of $120 per credit hour has been cut to $60. The half-priced tuition special is available for the two summer sessions which begin June 1, and July 6. This special tuition rate includes all online and traditional classes and it is available for all current and new students. Students will still be required to pay for books and other standard fees. Registration for summer classes is currently going on now. Friday, May 29, is the last opportunity to register for summer classes. Registration will be held in Jones Hall from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Students may register for Fall classes through the Student Success Center. Fall classes begin August 17. The last opportunity to register for fall classes is Friday, August 14.

All prospective students should begin the registration process by completing an Application for Admissions Application which can be found on the JCJC web page or by clicking on the link. Previously enrolled students or transferring students may call the Student Success Center for an early registration appointment for summer or fall classes at (601)-477-4184.

Individuals who have not yet attended Jones for college credit should visit the New 2 Jones section of the website for guidance by clicking on the link: http://www.jcjc.edu/new2jones.php. Future students will find a checklist for requirements for admissions, ensuring all necessary paperwork is complete before classes begin.

To register for summer or Fall 2015 classes, new students are required to make an appointment for “Jones Up Close.” The half-day program is designed to welcome new students to the Jones community in a small group setting. The dates for Jones Up Close can be found athttp://www.jcjc.edu/registration. New students must make an appointment for one of these dates by calling the Office of Recruiting at (601)-477-4116.

Before students can register, all entrance requirements must be met. Students must have a final high school and /or college transcript, or a GED score. An ACT score is also required. The Admissions and Records Office in the Hutcheson-Hubbard Administration Building can determine if entrance requirements have been met. Jones also offers convenient class times and online classes for those who are unable to attend classes at the Ellisville campus. Students enrolling in the MSVCC (100% online classes) or Jones hybrid on-line classes (75% online classes) should register prior to June 1 by contacting the Student Success Center at (601)-477-4184. General information concerning the requirements of the online classes is available through the JCJC eLearning web page at http://www.jcjc.edu/elearning and at specified registration terminals. Initial communication from online instructors to students will be through the campus e-mail system. Online classes begin Monday, June 1, through July 24. The online class fee is an additional $30 per MSVCC online class. Students can call the eLearning office for additional information at (601)-477-5454.

The summer registration fee is $40. Mississippi students will be charged $60 per semester hour this summer and out of state students will be charged an additional $10 per semester hour. All students are charged a Technology fee of $3 per hour up to $36 and a $40 health fee for free visits to the campus nurse practitioner and use of fitness center.
