Lamar County drowning victim identified

LAMAR COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

The body of a man found in a Lamar County pond Sunday afternoon has been identified.

According to Lamar County Deputy Coroner Anna Miller, the victim has been identified as Jonathan Lee Graham, 35, of Sumrall.

Lamar County Sheriff Danny Rigel said the body was pulled from a farm pond off Rocky Branch Road Sunday afternoon just before 4 p.m.

Rigel added that concerned family members went to the pond around 1:45 p.m. Sunday where Graham was last seen fishing on Saturday.

Family members discovered Graham's belongings by the pond and called authorities. Emergency personnel arrived on scene shortly after and rescue divers located the body around 3:45 p.m.

According to Miller, the body has been sent for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
