ELLISVILLE, MS (WDAM) - An Ellisville man has been sentenced to 140 months in prison.
According to the Ellisville Police Department, Daniel Freeman pled guilty in federal court in Hattiesburg March 9 to six counts of child pornography.
Ellisville Investigator Christy Carona said they received a call back in 2014 in reference to a welfare concern regarding Freeman's three-year-old daughter. During the investigation it was determined Freeman was in possession of child pornography. The police department said they also discovered that Freeman had been sharing, sending and receiving pictures with people with other states.
Freeman turned himself in to the police department June 6, 2014 and had his bond set at $300,000.
The Ellisville Police Department said they were contacted by Homeland Security Investigations in Gulfport in reference to Freeman. HIS assisted in the investigation and the prosecution of Freeman.
Freeman was also sentenced to lifetime supervision and received a $20,000 fine.
