1 in custody, 1 sought in Forrest County burglary

FORREST COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -

A Pine Belt man is behind bars and another is being sought by authorities in connection to a residential burglary.

Jarai Webber, 19, was arrested in connection to a March 21st burglary in the 100 block of River Road.

According to Forrest County Sheriff's Department Investigator Nick Calico, officers responded to a burglary in progress call, they noticed a broken back window to the home, and gave warning to release a K9. After that officers spotted a suspect running from the residence and pursued on foot.

Shortly after officers apprehended Webber when he surrendered, but according to Calico after he attempted to run again and hide under a nearby trailer and officers had to tase him and then he was taken into custody behind Pittman Drive.

Another suspect that is believed to be involved is Dan Andrew Tubbs, 19, and a warrant for residential burglary has been cut for his arrest.

According to Calico, the victim's property was recovered.

Webber was out on bond for an auto burglary out of Lamar County, and his previous bond was revoked.
