HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - The University of Southern Mississippi along with the Zeta Chi chapter of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity and the Chi Omega sorority held the event on USM's campus Saturday to support and raise money for those with Cystic Fibrosis.
The annual event has been held for almost 30 years and has raised over a half-a-million dollars. Saturday, the event raised 35,000 dollars alone.
Cystic Fibrosis is a life-threatening disease that affects the lungs and digestive system.
According to the "Cystic Fibrosis Foundation" around "30,000" Americans have the disease compared to the "70,000" people who have the disease worldwide.
