PETAL, MS (WDAM) - Petal officially opened the Petal River Park on Saturday.

The Park is located off of Highway 11 by Chain Park and the exclusive home to biking trails in Petal. 

The grand opening began with a ribbon cutting by Petal Mayor Hal Marx. Spectators were then treated to mountain bike racing

City officials expressed their interest in creating more of a nature oriented park.

The city has plans to expand the park by adding more trails, disc golf, and 3D archery among other things.
