HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - A Boy Scouts went door-to-door in Hattiesburg Saturday looking to assist residents in a projects that they were working on.
Noah Harris,15-year-old Eagle Scout candidate from troop 90, came up with a project called The 911 Project. It will assist the city's police, fire and emergency management first responder teams in locating their homes easier.
"What we're trying to do is put number numbers on houses so that in an emergency situation the ambulance or any other emergency personnel will know where to go," Harris said. "It's important of the community because we actually want these people to get help as fast as possible because every second really does count."
The group went around the neighborhood in Ward 2 in Hattiesburg asking permission of some residents to come on their property to check and see if the house numbers were visible and correct.
