Ales for Tails Festival to be held in Laurel on Saturday

LAUREL, MS (WDAM) -

Southern Cross Animal Rescue will be having it's Ales for Tails Homebrew Festival at Jitters Coffeehouse & Bookstore on Saturday, March 28th. Homebrew and commercial brewery beer will be available for sampling. Additionally, a smorgasbord of great food will be present and SCAR will be raffling off craft beer as well.

The Festival will start at 4:00 p.m. and run through 7:00 p.m. and entry is free. This event is open for all ages, but you must be 21+ to enjoy the beer, and of course this festival will be pet-friendly. At its core, the Ales for Tails Festival is a family event to benefit Southern Cross Animal Rescue and SCAR will receive 100% of the money collected during the event.

For those that would like to participate and show off their own craft beer, the fee will be $25 and you get a custom event tulip glass, all the food and beer you want and the sense of pride that comes from helping animals in need. Judging will be people's choice by brewer. 1st place will receive a custom medal and a $150 gift certificate to Northern Brewers, 2nd place will receive a custom medal plus 1 lb. of choice hops and a 50 lb. sack of base grain, while 3rd place will receive a custom medal and a 1 lb. bag of choice hops.

    The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation has issued a Missing/Endangered Child Alert for four-year-old William Holley III of Clarksdale. He was last seen Saturday at approximately 11:45 a.m. near the Hampton Inn and McDonald's on Highway 49 South in Clarksdale, in Coahoma County.
