LAUREL, MS (WDAM) - Two men have been arrested in connection to a shooting incident that took place Wednesday night in the 1800 block of General Pershing Street.
The Laurel Police Department responded to a shots fired call and on arrival it was discovered that unknown suspects had fired multiple shots and that one of those rounds went into a residence in the 1800 block of Johnson Drive.
After receiving a description of the suspects from witnesses, officers Moulds and Blancett responded to 1516 Lee Street and took two suspects into custody.
Desmond Powell, 24, and 20-year old Quayshawn Russell were arrested without incident and transported to the Jones County Jail. Both suspects are charged with one count of shooting into an occupied dwelling. They went before Laurel Municipal Court Judge Kyle Robertson on Friday where their bonds were set at $100,000 each.
