A late night wreck in Lamar County sent four people to a local hospital.
First responders rushed to extricate multiple patients involved a two-vehicle head on collision that occurred on Highway 11 near the Old Richburg Road intersection.
According to emergency officials on scene, both drivers had to be extricated, in the wreck that occurred just before 11 p.m.
Lamar County Fire Coordinator George Stevens stated the condition of the door, and where the patient was pinned after the initial impact from the wreck made it difficult for firefighters to use the Jaws of Life.
Members of the Lamar County Sheriff's Department, Mississippi Highway Patrol, ASAP Ambulance Service, Purvis, Pine Ridge, Beaver Lake and Oak Grove Volunteer fire departments responded to the scene.
The condition of the patients was not known by emergency officials on scene, and the cause of the wreck in under investigation.
