Snack offers relief for allergy sufferers, students

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

It's spring, so many people are suffering from allergies. There is also another challenging reality out there, specifically for students, final exams.

Hattiesburg Dietician, Stephanie Owen prepared Yogurt-Berry cups Thursday. She says it's a snack that will calm those allergies and sharpen the brain.

"First of all, you want to get honey that is local, because it helps with all the allergies,Owen said. Then we have the walnuts that support brain health with folate and vitamin E, and of course, your Omega 3 fats. It even helps with your inferential reasoning in young adults. We also have blueberries and strawberries that are also high in fiber. Then, we are going to have your yogurt, which will put everything together. It also has probiotic properties."

Owen says remember to make sure your honey is local. She says that is the only way it will help with the allergies.

Recipe:
