ELLISVILLE, MS (WDAM) -

A young double amputee had her dreams come true over the weekend thanks to Hanger Prosthetic & Orthotics in Hattiesburg.

Kalyn Squires, who has been a double amputee since she was eight months old due to a congenital birth defect, was able to see one of her favorite country singers Miranda Lambert in concert.

Lambert had a concert in Biloxi, Mississippi, so the company paid for the trip for her family, the concert, and a meet and greet with the country star.

"When she had her newest legs made, she chose a picture of Miranda Lambert for her left leg, and a picture of Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan for her right," said Christy Dean Squires, Kalyn's mother.

According to her mother, Lambert signed her prosthetic leg, and gave Kalyn several other autographed gifts.

Christy said she is proud of how far her daughter has come, and was happy she was able to have this experience.

"Her positive attitude on life is how she overcomes all obstacles, she doesn't allow anything to hold her back," said Christy. "Anytime she sees someone with any type of physical difference, she walks up to them and introduces herself, and tells them they are special just like her."

According to Christy, when Kalyn isn't busy inspiring others, she is dreaming of becoming a prosthetic limb doctor, or a cosmetologist.

"We just want her to be happy with whatever she decides to be," said Christy.
