HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - The University of Southern Mississippi is sponsoring a series of events this week as part of the national It's on Us campaign designed to stop sexual assaults.
Scheduled events include a "freeze" on Monday in which Student Government Association members and volunteers will stop in place for 2 minutes at 12:20 p.m. They will freeze in the busiest areas of campus, including Shoemaker Square and the Thad Cochran Center.
On Tuesday, a round table discussion will be held with many SGA leaders in the Student Activities Hub at 7 p.m.
Wednesday, a campus-wide social media push will be issued using the hashtag #ItsOnUSM. Visitors will be asked to take the pledge there.
Thursday, a public event will be held on the 3rd Floor of the South End Zone in the Rock at 7:30 p.m. Christy Pickering from IHL will give a personal testimony related to the campaign.
