PURVIS, MS (WDAM) - The lowest apparent bid for the construction of the Purvis High School field house came in at $1,030,891 from Stewart Development LLC of Hattiesburg. There were 11 bidders interested in replacing the field house that burned down last year.

The Lamar County School Board will now have to approve the bid during their next meeting on Monday, April 6.

The Lamar County District Architect, David Landry, expects it to be a nine month process once construction begins.
