DUBLIN, IRELAND - The University of Southern Mississippi's Pride of Mississippi Marching Band has taken top honors in a holiday performance on the Emerald Isle. Nearly 150 members of the band marched in the annual Lord mayor of Dublin's St. Patrick's Day Parade in Ireland Tuesday.
They played the Southern Miss fight song and a medley of patriotic tunes during the two-hour long event, which was broadcast around the world.
The Pride was one of five American bands to take part and was voted best band.
It also won an international band competition in limerick, Ireland last weekend.
The Pride also marched in the Dublin parade in 1993 and 1997.
