FORREST COUNTY (WDAM) -

Two of Forrest County's volunteer fires departments got new fire trucks Monday.

The Rawls Springs Volunteer Fire Dept and the McLaurin Volunteer Fire Dept both officially got their new trucks at Monday morning's meeting of the Forrest County board of supervisors.

The trucks came in part by a rural fire truck acquisition assistance program along with matching grants from the county, and with fire department insurance rebate programs.

"Actually some of our own money which we like to call 'egg and butter" money, it's in this truck too, we appreciate the community's help, appreciate the supervisors very much and we appreciate y'all," said Paul Morgan McLaurin, VFD.

The new trucks also help those departments keep their fire insurance rating intact.
