Carey to host 5K and Fun Run on March 28

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) -

This is a news release from William Carey University

The William Carey University Student Foundation will host the fifth annual iRun 5K and Fun Run during Homecoming on Saturday, March 28.

Registration for the run will begin at 7 a.m. at the Kennedy Sports Complex on the Hattiesburg campus. The race will begin at 8 a.m. and will circle the Carey campus. A one-mile Fun Run will begin immediately following the 5K.

The cost of the 5K is $25 with a $5 discount given to those registered prior to March 27. The Fun Run costs $20 or $15 if registered prior to March 27. There is a $5 discount for Carey students and for those under age 18. Funds raised benefit the Student Foundation, which raises money for institutional scholarships for deserving Carey students.

Awards will be given to overall finishers; to top finishers in the age groups 19-under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60-over; and to the top 10 finishers in the Fun Run. Fruits and beverages will be provided following the activities.
