USM Pride Band in Ireland for St. Patrick's Parade

DUBLIN, IRELAND - Dozens of Southern Miss music students are on the Emerald Isle this weekend, preparing to perform in an annual holiday event.

About 130 members of the Pride of Mississippi Marching Band arrived in Ireland Friday to participate in the Lord Mayor of Dublin's annual St. Patrick's Day Parade.

They'll play the Southern Miss fight song and a medley of patriotic music.

About two dozen Dixie Darlings also made the trip.

It's the third time in the last 30 years that the band has performed in that parade.

It begins next Tuesday at 12 p.m., Irish time.
