Seaside FL - A spring breaker from Hattiesburg found himself behind bars in a Florida jail for allegedly weighing drugs on a beach.
Christian Lewis Brown, 18, was arrested by a Walton County Sheriff's Office Beach Marine Unit officer on March 8th in the Seaside Central Square area. According to a statement from the sheriff's department, two males were observed along the beach dunes weighing what appeared to be drugs on a small black scale.
When the officer approached the suspects, identifying himself as a law enforcement officer, the suspects ran.
Brown, a high school student from the Hattiesburg area, who was in Florida on spring break, was detained and taken into custody.
According to authorities, a mason jar full of marijuana was seized, along with $357.00 in cash, which was recovered in the front pocket of the suspect.
Brown was arrested and charged with possession with intent to sell a controlled substance along with possession of marijuana, over 20 grams, and booked into the Walton County Jail facing a $10,000 bond.
