FORREST COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - A Hattiesburg woman is behind bars and facing a $25,000 bond in connection to a weekend burglary.
Angela Newsome-Scott, 23, was arrested shortly after midnight Saturday on Sullivan-Kilrain Road in Forrest County in connection to a residential burglary. According to Forrest County Sheriff's Department investigators, deputies responded to a call in reference to a burglary. Investigators stated that the victim allegedly saw Newsome leaving her residence when she got home.
Authorities questioned Newsome and then took her into custody in connection to the burglary.
According to investigators, there were signs of forced entry into the residence, and the stolen property was not recovered.
The investigation is still ongoing.
